Defender keeps locking itself!
I have a 2004 110 XS with central locking. It insists on locking itself the moment the doors shut, which is very annoying if the door blows shut during the daily farm gate routine. It’s even more annoying if the engine’s running and I forget to open the window before jumping out!

Is there any way to disable this self-locking feature?

Thanks ——————————

If it hasn’t always done this then I would assume something has altered in the drivers door lock mechanism as that is the door that activates the CL

Thanks for the replies. I think I need to read that 10-AS alarm guide and see what I can change. ——————————

Mine did it whilst running in the yard. Turned it on to defrost shut the door and click, all the locks dropped.
Worst thing was my spare key was at work Banging Head
Think it ended up being water ingress that had caused it. I looked at bit suspect driving to work with the rear quarterlight window missing!

I’m going to have a look inside the door and see if the mechanism is corroded or something. It could affect the central locking I reckon. The other problem I have with the drivers door is the plastic lock/unlock knob has snapped and is useless. Hopefully I can get a spare. ——————————
