Sawtooths, wranglers and spacers?
Hi guys

Has anyone got the OE sawtooths with goodyear wrangler MTR's (235/85) and then 30mm spacers that they would be willing to share pictures of?

Really keen to see what this set up looks like, anyone help please?

Cheers all

I don’t have a picture, bit I have a friend with this setup on a 90 and it looks a bit goofy in my opinion.

The MTRs aren’t a wide tire, and the Sawtooths are et20. So far, so good

Add a 30mm spacer and you’re at et-10 and a narrow tire pretty far out… Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

I too have the factory wranglers. And I was also considering 30mm spacers, partly for looks and partly for turning circle improvement. I’d also like to see what it looks like before I do it.

I’ve seen wider tires with spacers looking good, but not the original 235s.

The best I can offer is 235x85R16 boosts with conti's before and after adding 30mm spacers. I believe are the same as Sawtooths? It'll look great and improve your turning circle (when you adjust the steering stops correctly).

Not sawtooth’s or MTR’s but same tyre size & 30mm spacers fitted - an improvement in my view.

I like. Thanks for the photos. I agree, an improvement but subtle.

I always thought my wheels sit well inside the arches. Could do with an inch or so to fill them out. Might get some now.

Having not had my defender long and moving from a “normal” car, I’ve been caught out a few times with the terrible turning circle Laughing hopefully this aesthetic improvement will have practical benefits too.

Again, fill out the arches nicely in my opinion.

You do know just changing the wheels/tyres/spacers won't improve the turning circle, don't you?

The key issue is adjusting the lock stops so the wheels get as close as possible (or even slightly touching) the radius arms at full lock. LR seem to ship vehicles with a very conservative adjustment and a big improvement can usually be had just by optimising the standard set-up without changing the wheels or fitting spacers.
