Four British legends

Slightly off topic as only one is one of ours!
Just by happenstance a Rangie so posh it doesn't have a front number plate, a Mclaren 720, an original Cooper with genuine 18000 on the clock ... and my old working truck. Sublime to ridiculous?
For a few minutes they lined up, 10 mins later one of them was gone.
Bit of a line up of Brit legends. Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz
Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ...

Its a testament to the design that it doesn't look at all out of place.

Always had a very soft spot for the original shaped Mini’s

You really see so very few of them on the road now.

That is a latter Rover version but the Austin and BL versions all were susceptible to the rust worm.

My Mum had a Variety of Mini’s and they were so very much like the Defender in so many ways.
They corroded as you watched them
Many years of production and hopeless flaws in the basic design were never rectified or changed
Their owners put up with their unique quirkiness and individual ways
They are both really good fun to drive
They both have a cult following
Their replacements were nothing much like the originals

Before I start another argument, the last comment is not meant to antagonise, but is a fact. They both got modernised and their designs have both changed to meet modern manufacturing and safety standards.

Great photo 👍

Having owned a classic mini, a lovely 1996 brg Rover Cooper S5 works sportpack, there is definitely a similar lure to them as there are to traditional Land Rovers, and yes the replacements never quite had that lure, in fact, not at all Whistle
Still wish I could have kept it really even if just as a Sunday car Sad

Nice lineup but they’re all still inherently linked to British Leyland. The BL blood will remain for a long time yet.
