Oil Pressure light / Oil Pressure issue
'm currently have my Land rovers broken and I'm so upset.

The 110 let me down for the first time. The Vacuum pump failed.

New Alternator/Vac pump fitted.

Cleaned the oil pipe....did'nt swap oil.

Ran and drove was perfect. Parked..when I restarted oil light came on.
I did not dare drive so had to tow it home.

Removed sump...only a few small pieces of carbon found.
Removed oil strainer appears clean and no pieces even within pipe.
Removed oil pump and inspected and visually appears fine.
Stripped the pressure valve from pump all clean.
Removed pressure switch and cleaned..was fine though.
Replaced both filters and oil

Started and oil light gone....then drove and flickers on.
Eventually seemed on alot.

Cleaned pressure switch plug and check harness seems fine.

Light flickers once in a while seems to come on after warming up to temp.

What do you guys think....I'm thinking buy a gauge to test actual pressure to see if it's reading correctly.
Anything that TD5's suffer.
Do you think I missed an issue with the pump??

Please help! Sad

Definitely need to get a pressure gauge plumbed in to see what is going on. How many miles on engine? Good quality filters?

Thank you for your reply.
I'm just over 160,000.
I always use good oil and filters. Normally shell oil and MANN filters.

I will order a kit to measure pressure.

Oil Pressure
I have tested the oil pressure and all seems fine.
I replaced the oil pressure switch and it behaved normally for about a week or so.
Oil pressure is 3+ Bar cold idle and 5+ bar cold.

I fitted my Roof tent this weekend and went to move it today and oil light on Big Cry
I was planning all the mods and adventures to have in the Land Rover last night and today back to broken Big Cry Big Cry
Double checked and pressure is fine.....

So I'm assuming wiring/electrical fault.
I could not see any issue with the wiring from what I could see but it's inside a plastic conduit over the gearbox.

What would you suggest? Should I replace the wire back the the plug under the seat with a new one? Any other suggestions.

Thank you! Thumbs Up

It’s not a problem I’ve come across before, but I would run a temporary wire and see how that effects things.
