Hello from Japan. 110 D300 S on order
Hello. First post so go easy on me.

Configurator and options quite a bit different in the land of the rising sun!

For the 110 there are just 2 engines on offer (as of today): P300 and D300.
X-Dynamic and X only have the D300.
P300 is available in the standard Defender in normal, S, or SE trim.

I decided to go for the 'standard' Defender in S trim because I wanted the contrasting white roof (can't get that with X-Dynamic or X)
There was no D300 SE or HSE on offer.

Options selected:

Pangea Green
19" 6010 wheels in gloss black (wanted steelies but alas not an option, was quoted ~ 4k GBP for post delivery dealer fit)
Contrast roof in white
Sliding pan roof (must from the mrs)
Black exterior pack
Privacy glass (regular 36C summer days here)
Premium LED with signature DRL (Matrix not an option)
Front fog light (must be included with Premium LED)
12 way semi electric front seats with seat heater
Family Pack (3 kids and regular grandparents)
60:40 luggage manual sliding with centre armrest (must be included with family pack
Rough cut walnut veneer
Meridian sound system
Air suspension (must be included with family pack)
Cold climate pack
Wheel arch extension
Fixed side step
Carpet mats

Side point: I wanted the rear recovery eyes but I had to select the bright exterior pack which was a no no for me so will have to do that post delivery.

I put down my deposit end of March this year.
Dealers in Japan aren't willing to give an estimated delivery date. They said I was in the build order queue and should receive it this year, latest Q1 next year.

I have not received the automated/semi-automated emails most of the UK orders get with tracking updates.
Happy to share the price/cost of options if you want to compare.

Can't wait!

Very nice! Very similar to what I configured. Strange that you cannot get a D200 or D250 out there. I guess unless you're willing to spend bigger, you end up with the P300. I did a test drive in the P300 and I thought it was a nice drive and very responsive. Let us know how you get on out there.

Thanks! Liking your config too!

Diesel is not so popular out here- just 2.1% of all passenger cars in 2019, and there's an issue of sales volume. Import cars accounted for just 8% of new car registrations in 2019.

Each model is typically confined to 1 diesel choice.
So for instance the Evoque and Velar only get the D200, the Discovery the D300. The same goes for BMW, Mercedes etc. Audi don't even sell diesel cars here anymore.

We wanted the D300 because of the fuel economy as we do a lot of motorway miles and the price of diesel here is pretty low. and less than regular... it's roughly 78p a litre right now (!)

I road tested the P300, there was and still is no D300 to be tested in the showrooms and agree with your assessment. Didn't find it lacking in torque or response, that 8 speed ZF does a great job.
