Great photos Clayton Thumbs Up

Never much of a cricket fan myself, but i do like their scoreboard building. Very smart. As you said, must be unique? Be good to see the main building spruced up for their anniversary.

Same here Rashers, not being a cricket fan, when we get around to do the main building next year i will certainly put the progress on this thread Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

So another bit of different thatching for you as i can't remember the last time i did one of these Wink

Not all thatched roofs have thatch on both sides, generally thatch one side and slate or tiles on the other side but they have to have a thatched ridge on to keep the water out. The back of this place was half thatched which we have just re-done and the other half is tiles.
To start with you need a good fixing point, a new piece of 3 x 2 does the job nicely

Then to prepare the bundles of reed, cut the tops off to shorten them

Then to start putting them on

Finished putting them on the full length of the tiles

As they were fixed on with metal crooks i am putting a line of reed on fixed with spars ( wooden pegs ) as a extra safety measure so the water does not follow down where the crooks go into the wood

Then once that has all been done, it's time to put the ridge on and all trimmed

Ridge on with the netting on

In all the job went well and pleased with the overall outcome Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.
