Service cost thoughts
Hi all,

Would appreciate your thoughts on service costs for work carried out

Just had the 130 200 tdi, 55k miles fully serviced and also had the Timing belt and a load of stuff done (As no service history):
- Sump Plug & washer
- Oil, Air & fuel filter
- Timing belt tensioner, belt, washer etc
- Engine cover gasket, water pump gasket
- Water pump
- v-Belt
- Oil, Antifreeze etc

And of course labour on top, 4.75 hrs at £49.95

Total costs came to £631.30 (inc VAT)

How does that sound?

Garage is local, is a specialist Land Rover, but wanted to see if I'm paying a fair price Thumbs Up Iggy/Ieuan

I wouldn't be upset at receiving that bill. £49.95 an hour seems fair Thumbs Up

Of course if you did it yourself, it would be a fraction of that cost, but I am like you and pay someone to do it.

Just my take on it. Others may disagree.

My local garage (not Landy specific) but every car under the sun charges the same hourly rate. 1999 Defender TD5 110

That’s a pretty fair price. £240 labour and £390 for all those fluids and parts.
