Mine had the following issue:
When driving into traffic after a long run, so warm engine, it would sometimes become unresponsive on the gas pedal. Car keeps running, but no power or revs (above idle). Quick fix was turn car off, and start again and wait until it happens again. According the dealer they solved the issue (under 3 months warranty) by replacing the switches for the brake lights in the pedal area. Edit: also no warning lights or error codes. |

Try to accurately measure the engine coolant temp when this happens. Mine was doing this but it was related to over heating. At about 112 deg c it would go into limp mode, then when it cooled it would go back to normal.

That would be my thought, too. It's a self-preservation measure in the event of overheating. It could be something like a faulty viscous fan, which would lead to overheating in the circumstances that you describe, or even a faulty cylinder head temperature sensor making it think that it's over heating.
