Cant see a real issue with tapping the power feed off at that point. You really need an inline fuse at the point your wire starts though to protect in the event of a short circuit.

the ARB wiring kit that I bought with my fridge has a nice bit of double strand wire, a fuse, and is grounded to the battery. its quite convenient to have some strong power at the rear of the vehicle.

I've done exactly that on my 110. I've got a 70amp cable from my second battery in the battery box to a fuse box in the rear (via a bus bar but that's because of the switching arrangements that I've set up). It's not difficult with a bit of thought given to the routing. Earthing is done locally at the rear.

Hi lra what size is the cable you use to the back as ive just purchased some 10mm2 wire and it doesnt look as thick as yours?

It's 10mm2 and should be around 7mm in diameter. Darren
