Having spent the last 4 winters navigating 1m thick ice in the Gulf of St Lawerence and Arctic Canada I would give those two outboards no chance of getting any distance before they either froze up or the props got so badly damaged they were useless, even brash ice like that would rip the sponsons to pieces.......... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

SCG MINI BOOT PRICED, BAJA 1000 ELIGIBLE & STREET LEGAL
"Shortly after Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus beat the Ford Bronco R at the Baja 1000 with the LT4-powered Boot, the boutique automaker based in Sleepy Hollow, New York announced a follow-up. Called the SCG Mini Boot, the wild looking two-door off-road 4×4 will be sold as an incomplete vehicle for the customer to finish. A kit car. But it’s a kit car that will be Paris-to-Dakar Buggy Class and Baja 1000 Class 10 eligible.

Here’s the latest news: in a social media post, SCG announced that the Mini Boot will be priced from $130,000. The company noted that kit will come with all of the regulatory hardware to make the vehicle street legal. Additionally, it will likely be RWD only, and with three seats.

“We may make it 2WD only as a 3 seater as 4WD is not Paris to Dakar legal in its class. As a 3 seater would also be a better pre runner,” said SCG on Instagram. In either case, the SCG Mini Boot will remain 4WD capable."

And the 4 door big boot seems to have gained a new interior:

That's a great video ~ more interesting than the title might first suggest ~ thanks for posting Thumbs Up

You can't fault the design philosophy of the builder, Allen bolts to remove everything, bung holes to wash out the interior, stock engines, and if you crash it, they'll rebuild it at wholesale cost.

After taking on, and beating, the Bronco, the Boot comes around to take a swipe at the F-150.

Glickenhaus Says Zero-Emission Boot Pickup Is Better Than Lightning

It will run on hydrogen and allegedly compete in the 2022 Baja 1000.
Whatever Ford does, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus can do better. That's the takeaway from the latest social media post from company boss James Glickenhaus, featuring a sneak peek at SCG's proposed zero-emission Boot pickup. Technically, it's electric just like the new F-150 Lightning. However, instead of batteries supplying juice, it will use hydrogen fuel cells.

According to Glickenhaus, this rebooted Boot will also boast either a two-door or four-door configuration. Power isn't mentioned, but the two-door Boot truck is said to sport a full-size bed and a range of, wait for it, 1,200 miles. Opting for the four-door truck reduces that range to 600 miles, and from what we see in these images in the Facebook post embedded below, that's apparently attributable to added fuel storage for the two-door where you'd otherwise find the second row of seats.

1200 miles of a range equates to a lot of fuel. Wonder is there much payload capacity left when you factor that in? Now if the Mrs would loan me some diesel money I'd love to head off with him in my series 111 2.25 diesel, just for the "craic" as we say over here. It would be a help if he were an EXTREMELY patient man..... 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Not really looking a practical solution, is it?

"glickenhaus unveils its hydrogen boot fuel cell off-roader"

jim glickenhaus said the vehicle will be equipped with swappable cryogenic hydrogen tanks. ‘our refueling solution is swappable DOT compliant tanks filled with cryogenic hydrogen that can be easily changed 24/7/365 worldwide as one swaps out propane BBQ tanks. this can happen at home or in existing gas stations or parking lots.’
