Landrover 2009 defender 90 County HT SWB Radio fault
Dear All,i have a problem with the defender original radio fitted in my 2009 defender 90 county HT SWB .The radio seems to switch itself on at will ,then switch between CD loading and radio . I have tried different combinations to solve the problem ,leaving key ignition ,switching radio on /of before starting the engine ect , or using central locking but problem still persists , I am worried that I can going to park up and return to a flat battery. So I wonder if any of the many experts on this forum can advise how to remedy, had a similar problem and rectified or if any member is interested in selling a second hand version around the 25£ plus postage to Wales so I can simply do a straight swap assuming the radio is faulty.Thank you

I had this - spooky isn't it when you wake in the night hearing music playing coming from your vehicle in the drive!

I think its due to a faulty on/off switch; I 'solved' mine by squirting some contact cleaner around the switch & it seemed OK for a while but I've had to repeat a couple of times since! Richard

Have similar problem but on a Golf. Couple of taps in the switch seem like it keep it under control. Its been like that for a few years now, and now noticed that is is more of a summer thing (perhaps the plastic expands and the contacts move closer).

If you get to buy a new radio, make sure you get the code with it. Bought one for Defender off ebay, seller said he included it but I could not find it anywhere. Too bad that my purchase protection had expired Big Cry 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Thanks Dinnu, the reminder on the CODE is `appreciated ,I was trying to get a direct replacement for the original because I don't want to tart the vehicle up
