Curious, how does a brake shield prevent excessive wear? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

my guess it keeps lots of the dirt / grit out, my rears without guards wore down on the insides totally uneven (7mm or so difference)
fronts with the guards are even.. |

The actual design purpose of the brake shield is to maximise clean contact between the pads and the disc. Ie minimising dirt, debris, salt and water. Brake shields improve braking efficiency. I would not run without them... in any road conditions 👍 Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... By reducing the amount of road spray that reaches the discs which, if used on unsealed roads, is laden with abrasive grit. |

I fitted a pair of those last year and they're ok, although I did have to re-fix one of the brackets that was loose in the bag
