Uprated intercooler fo defender 2.2 puma
Good evening guys,
I've just had an engine failure on my puma due to a missfire in the fourth piston(the one in the front) caused by an injector that locked up. The engine has just been replaced. i've always wanted to get an uprated intercooler and I'm in allisport's waiting list, actually I've been in it for the last 7 weeks, but they've told me that they're facing a material shortage that is causing long delays. As i can't afford to wait anymore to get the car on the road I need to find a quicker solution. I made and inquiry today to paddock spares asking whether the serck motorsport intercooler they have in stock could fit my 2.2 and they replied that they do not make any that will fit my car,( the site states that it's only compatible with the td5 and 2.4 tdci, but then allisports makes one that can fit the td5 as well as the tdcis, 2.2 and 2.4, so i'm getting a little confused).
Maybe I got replied by someone that was not enough competent to provide the informations I've been looking for.
I've seen that bas as well as britpart produce uprated intercoolers. Are they any good? Will they fit with no mods in my car, that has air con?
Any help by you landy gurus is much needed. Bow down
Thank you very much .

I have a BAS intercooler fitted to my 2.2 with air con. It's an excellent option. Darren

I’ve just got a BAS one, currently in the attic waiting to be fitted, lovely looking piece of engineering
( bit weird comment I know ) I ‘ve had an Allisport one on a previous vehicle, again well put together.

If you are quick you may be able to snag the last one he has listed on his website otherwise a bit of a wait I believe.
