Such a shame the Americans are stuck with rubbish petrol engines.

I didn't have the patience to watch the whole video or study the detail, but does he actually say at any point what tyres the Defender and RR are actually on?
Surely in snow like that, THE biggest factor will be the effectiveness of the tyres.
I seem to recall watching a tyre test video where a 2 wheel drive SUV on proper snow tyres was able to drive up an artificial ski slope, leaving the AWD version of the same vehicle struggling to make any progress on road tyres.

RRS and FFRR in the videos are on Duratracs Steven’s Defender is on Cooper STT AT3’s according to the first video
The coopers have something like 18000 miles on them Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Tim is correct - and both sets of tyres are 3 Peaks Mountain rated...

Sorry Tim, I didn't read the info you added with the 1st video.

It would be much more interesting when they do comparisons like this if they could get the same tyres on all the vehicles.

He’s bought some Duratracs and will be doing another comparison video. The main problem he has is the power being pulled when in low range it isn’t just the P400 another owner has made a video of it happening on his D250. More owners are now saying they are experiencing the same problem and have stressed it is only a matter of time before a accident happens. It doesn’t happen in the D5 nor the RR/RRS.

I’ve been talking to him about the channels I went down to get JLR to sort my faults out after the dealership returned my vehicle back worse than before it went in for repairs. They have responded and are going to get on to his dealership. He’s not happy and for good reason…it’s dangerous!

Anyway Happy World Land Rover Day Thumbs Up

Mod Defender on 35‘s
Tyres makes all the difference.
But does the engine and transmission will live long with these huge tyres?

Russians test the Defender

What I like about the Russian offroad test.
Being it snow, mud or whatever they just go through it

They should have tried the 90 instead of 110 shorter wheelbase like Mercedes which seems to have no problems.
OTOH the Terrain Response 2 can do it but you need a master in computer science to actually find the right program

Remarks
1) why didn’t the VW Amarok continue the track?

2) The Defender D200 does have the standard AT tyres compared to the Mercedes (read this in the comments)

3) The Russians made this 4x4 Park https://4x4park.ru
