“Show direction to qibla” in navigation
I couldn’t work out what this option was in the Navigation menu. A bit of Googling and it’s apparently something to do with Mecca.

Why the hell is this an option in my car?? I couldn’t give a crap where Mecca is. Why are Land Rover suddenly putting such a random thing in their nav system?

It’s been a feature on LRs sat navs for a while. It’s never bothered me to be honest, just leave it switched off. 23.5MY 90 D250 X-Dynamic SE, Pangea Green

It's there to show muslims drivers which way to park their Defender when doing honor to their god.
Normally these navi systems are updated by the companies who build them as an international version. They don't care about regional preferences but just show any important infos and places. If you do (don't) know or like them is not an issue. Doing the navi system for everybody is much cheaper then building preferences for specific regions.
I don't know who does the navi system for LR. I don't think it's TomTom, perhaps Nokia's System or the on that belongs to group of German carmakers. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)
