Wonder how he got it classified to go into the LEZ and not being a SW? Rolling with laughter

Isn’t the queen exempt from registration laws? Perhaps he registered it in her name. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

I don't think it needs plates now.

The route it looks to be taking appears to be all within castle confines. Originally, there was going to be a 20 mile journey on public roads. Maybe that would have needed plates?

More proof he had history with tinkering with cars, and maybe an option to where this one might end up?

Hats off to the TD5 anti-stall. Surprised

Looks like it was used the entire length as a way to control speed and avoid a change of engine noise.

A purring TD5 is a fantastic send off.

I was wondering whether they’d kept the original power plant........and then I heard it! Should’ve revved it under the archway before the chapel 😜

Lovely looking vehicle - fit for a Prince indeed.

All very dignified and fitting. I must admit that I drove my Defender with a bit more pride this afternoon. 2010 XS USW

The best ever funeral service I have seen. Never before in my 35yrs of LR ownership have I seen such a more highly polished Landrover. The panelling, bodywork and paint was impeccable and outstanding. An absolutely fantastic send off.

I thought it was a 300Tdi that been reworked, until i saw the intercooler and heard the TD5 purring. Looks like they had it on low range and in 1st gear. The hole time for it to crawl. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Unmistakable sound of the offbeat 5 cylinder. An awesome Landrover sound. Oh I miss my TD5.

The paint finish on that Defender was exceptional as was the whole of the service. The Queen looked a lonely figure sat there on her own. As for the funeral we have yet again shown the world what we can do, covid or no covid. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Did you all just want to give the Queen a hug?

She was alone but not alone, I think most of us were right there with her in our thoughts.

Fitting send off for a hero who never blew his trumpet and never wanted anyone else to blow it either. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

Cracking funeral. We are still the best at ceremonial duties, hands down. The bands and music were fantastic, the formations (the spacing in the Quadrangle and by the steps into StG's Chapel clearly determined by Covid) beautiful, weather perfect, the castle looking resplendent, the ceremony, the bearers, the Land Rover and the slow-march, wonderfully judged. Low key, respectful, perfectly executed.

HM looked very small and very lonely. The death of a partner of almost 8 decades is hard to even fathom.

RIP Philip. Great service for a man who himself offered great service to his adopted country. Bow down Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....
