[Wanted] Land Rover Series PTO
I appreciate this is a little OT but I'm aware many members have series vehicles.

I'm looking for a series PTO assembly, specifically the selector unit and the rear output assembly.

Had a lucky find today and would like to complete the kit and fit to my 80".

Well done finding those Thumbs Up my son has the rear PTO with a belt Pulley which is all working on his 86in. I have the PTO with the guard etc which came with the 80in when I got it from Australia, they are a nice talking point at agricultural shows etc. You could try Marc Pederson ( Agricultural and Cross Country Vehicles) as he sometimes has odd bits of PTO parts.

Good idea, will give him a call!

Lovely 80" you have there, I may need to ask for some measurements of the outer guard piece in due course please. I have the inner cover but not the outer. Confused 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

Repro covers are available from Rob Maud.
You’re lucky to have the rear cover, I think they were often taken off to put the shaft on, then lost!

I doesn't look as though the rear cover was ever fitted as there is still packaging present on the wing nut!
I saw Rob's guards, they cost as much as I paid for the rear PTO, pulley, guard and prop!! That said, not an easy thing to fabricate and they do look lovely. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

Do you think you could PM me a link please? It's possible that it is listed in a group I'm not a member of I suppose? (Can't see it when I search for Series PTO).

EDIT - found it Embarassed 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

Re propshaft, yes it came with one for a 109 which unfortunately is no use, so I plan to have a new one made at a local specialist when the time comes. I'm happy to measure extended/compacted lengths if it would be helpful?

Otherwise I believe CKD shop sells them. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

The PTO shaft for a 109" is a rare bit of kit, especially if it has the centre bearing and mounting bracket. It might fetch you good money if you decide to sell it.

I have a spare 80" PTO shaft, but I've never looked at selling values as I'm usually too lazy to advertise stuff, never mind package it! Shocked
If you can get repro(?) ones from CKD shop that would be favourite I reckon.

I may even have the control unit for the top rear of the gearbox. I know there's some NOS stuff in a shed, but once again I haven't looked lately.

I got a little bored with SI stuff, years ago. Sometimes if someone local who I know turns up, I will let something go but otherwise maybe my heirs will have to sort it out.... Yawn

Here's a pic of a PTO on the back of a 109" SI.

And a few early 80" PTO guards looked something like this:

And just for fun (as someone often asks!) here's the difference between a Land Rover rear pulley and a Fergie one:

And I've just noticed the control units in the pic. So they must be somewhere! Embarassed

Slideywindows, I'll drop you a message, perhaps we can work something out.

The 109 PTO prop looks like a 130 rear prop to me, no signs of a centre bearing or mounting bracket..... 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

109" PTO shaft. Two pieces.

Bearing in the middle, on a bracket.

Can be seen in this photo:

In which case, I have the rear prop but not the centre bearing or the front prop as it were... I need to touch base with the chap I got them from incase he finds any other related bits. Thumbs Up 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

If I remember correctly, the rear section is the same as used for the PTO on 88" Land Rovers, so is more easily found.

It is the front section and bearing that is tricky to find.

I hope you have success with that. Thumbs Up
