Any one had issues with their sun roof not closing properly?
It closes three quarters of the way but as it interacts with the wind deflector it appears to detect resistance and reopens like a window will if blocked. I can close it if I hold the wind deflector down whilst closing the roof and quickly pulling my hand out of the way, not ideal! Going into the dealers on wed to sort out some other cosmetic issues but would like to offer suggestions if someone has experienced this before. Hi mate, yep quite a few of us from the early D3 days seem to be coming over here, probably something to do with the fact the new Defender feels like the true successor to the D3/D4, not the Range Roveresq D5, great car, loved mine, but it didn’t make me smile when I drove it, unlike the Defender.
Cardiac Hill is still there and making the students work hard just like the old days, courses are very different now but echoes of the old ways still appear, like a certain little hill🤣 D240 110 First Edition (1XD3, 4xD4s and a D5 now gone) Member of Disco Forums since 2006 |

I’ve had similar, sunroof will close then immediately re-open. The manual blind reset seems to fix it as I haven’t had it happen again after that. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Tim, how do I do a reset of the sunroof blind?, willing to give anything a go. D240 110 First Edition

Manually open the blind fully and leave it open, open the roof fully and release the button. Then close the roof and see if the blind follows it. In my case the blind was very slightly out of synch with the glass and that was what was causing the problem, not the wind deflector as that was sometimes as far as it got before springing open again too. I did have to try several different combinations of blind and roof position until I got it closed fully.
