No flashing from indicators on locking
Ladies / Gents

I finally managed to get the central locking to operate ( well Indy garage did ) by fitting a new Alm module with CDL installed but since the vehicle has come back the flashers are not operating on locking and unlocking by use of the key fob.

Is there some sort of magic sequence with the key that makes them operate as they did before.

The vehicle is a 2014 2.2 110 csw.

I do have a Nanocom unit if that helps, not that I know what to do with it though.

Anyone have any advice?

I believe there is a setting that you can turn the function on and off IIRC.

However, I can’t say that’s a guarantee as I wasn’t concentrating on it at the time and it’s possible that it in enabled and still not working.
It may be worth checking, just in case it is currently off.

It may or may not be the solution but it is worth checking to be sure first. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Check all of the fuses. There are four or five associated with different bits of the system and one of them blowing has the effect of stopping the indicators flash. Don't ask how I know... Rolling Eyes Darren

Had same problem, read elsewhere on this forum that it needs a new battery in fob......problem solved.

So Gents, Thanks for all the suggestions as how to overcome this flasher ( or lack thereof ) problem.

I have tried all of the fuses fitted to the vehicle with no luck, replaced the batteries in both remotes and
Similarly no luck.

Could it be that when the new ALM module was fitted and programmed to the vehicle along with both remotes that something wasn’t turned on when the Indy Garage plugged it in to whatever computer programme they are using?

Everything works as it should, apart from the interior light which now no longer lights up / fades on unlocking and locking
( as well as the flasher issue )
The light does work when switched to the constant on position however.

I am at a little bit of a loss with this one, it is re assuring to have the flashing as well
on locking and unlocking the vehicle ( I think )

Any other thoughts?

The dimming interior light function is controlled by the alarm module so it definitely sounds like something isn't right. You say that everything else works as expected but have you actually tried the alarm? Lock it with a window open wave your arm inside to see if it sets it off. Darren

Well the sounder certainly operates.
Used the key not the fob to unlock it with the intention of opening the door and it set the alarm off straight away without actually opening the door which I think Is rather unusual as I am pretty sure you are supposed to open the Car with the key in the event of the central locking failing.

The key will not disarm the alarm, so if the alarm is set and you unlock with the key and open a door, the alarm will sound. It would be unusual for the alarm to sound as you unlock the door, it is the opening of the door which will set it off.

Both interior light coming on and indicators flashing can be set on or off in the ALM ECU. Now the beta version of the nanocom infers it can set these functions. https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/downloads/preview/alm-ecu . To understand how this is done I would mail nanocom and they will hopefully denote the process to follow. Alternatively go back to the indi and advise they need to enable the settings for you as part of the work they did, plus get them to list all the settings currently set on your ALM ECU in case you want others set. The nanocom ALM ECU document will give you the list of settings that can be used / not used.

Thanks for the reply.

It just so happens that I bought a nanocom on a group buy at the end of last year, unfortunately for me it didn’t have the
Latest beta version on it even though I bought it after it had been released.

Unfortunately, I can’t update it as I have a Mac which is not supported by the nanocom. I have a new Mac which has the wrong chip otherwise I could have downloaded apples boot camp programme which supports windows on the Mac.

That leaves me with going back to the Indy and having them turning on the correct permissions, I would have thought that perhaps I shouldn’t have had to ask for that but hey ho just shows never to take things for granted.

Just a thought,
On the nanocom document it mentions this setting.

 Arm disarm confirm: If the alarm is armed or disarmed twice in succession this setting
will determine if the hazard lights are used to confirm the status of the alarm or not.

So I’m wondering if that has been toggled and if from outside the vehicle with the fob you lock, unlock, lock unlock the truck in quick secession it toggles it back on . Just give it five minutes before opening the vehicle with the fob and see if the hazards now blink. Just a wild guess but worth a try.
