Wish-Lists and Their Cost!
I have a wish-list and as soon as I cross something off it I end up reading a thread (or two), seeing something and thinking "Now there's a good idea! Must add it to my wish-list!"

Now I sat down this morning and did a running total of my wish-list spend over the preceding three years of ownership. My running total does not include sundries like wiring or relays etc, or consummables or any subtraction for the redundant stuff I've sold on. I was astounded to discover that to-date it ammounts to a princely sum of:

£10,355:00

My wish-list doesn't get any shorter either! My Missus when asked "How much do you reckon I've spent on my Defender in extras?" Her retort was "I don't know? Maybe £15 or £20K?" By my reckoning I've got a lot of credit then!

:ot: On another topic ish!!!.....There is in my opinion quite a lot of :censored: on this forum. I know because I've posted a lot of it! nevertheless, I was stumped yesterday whilst carrying out the fitment of my latest wish-list purchase. I came indoors and did a quick search on the forum and the answer was there like a shot in front of me. The feeling of relief and satisfaction was immense. I just wish to say a BIG personal thank you to all those that post solutions to problems or difficulties other forum members have! Don't really need to say it but this forum really is a valuable tool! Got me out of a fix it did!

Before......(well just 6 or so months after purchase).....

Not really 'after' as my wish-list continues.....

Bob, LED indicators are good UNTIL you want to tow then the trailer indicator light will not function properly as the resisttance of the LED lights are so low it does not realise it has extra trailer light circuit as well.

I am sad enought to have a spreadsheet listing everything I have spent on the 110 since i bought it 3 years ago.

Currently it has cost me £17,019 (and 52p if your interested) incluiding the purchase price of £10,500 and my wish list of things left to buy stands at £6550

I don't think thats too bad considering. 2002 Defender 110 DC

Thanks Brendan, I don't tow very often but I can do without the agro when I do.

Have you any pictures of the worklight you mentioned in another thread a few week back ?

Confused Doesn't everybody Question... Smile

My spend since buying my 110 in mid-July is around £1600. My wish-list isn't fully priced as some of the stuff I want I'll either make or have made, but it's very easy to have a list worth several thousand pounds Shocked Darren

I've spent a few bob on mine too, though when I look at the defender it doesn't seem that different to standard. Only a few more things that I would like to get:

1. Clifford G5 alarm system.
2. Alive SS exhaust and decat pipe.
3. Big Country drawer unit, once it is in stock.
4. Entreq EGR killer and a few other bits.
5. Trailair system.
6. Eberspacher night heater with 7 day timer.
7. Anything else that tickles my fancy.

I've got my Defender just as I want it now, besides putting a 1.22 T/box on her.

However, next on my wish list is a 110, so then I can start all over again Mr. Green

Rolling with laughter Only needed a small rack so opted for a twin cab one at less than half retail against a new one like for like! Came along at the right time at the right price, it is just for luggage items to clear more room in the cab on an impending trip with possible bad weather and two kids in tow on the journey! It'll do and if I ever knock it on I'll never lose my money! (Well that was my 'theory' anyway!) Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Got mine pretty much how i want it now, wouldnt mind a cruise control and a set of different tyres/wheels but imo less is more and subtle upgrades do it for me, too many mods and they start to look hideous like mod scooters Laughing
