Defender 2013 130. Electrical or Immobilizer issues | |
Hi All.
I would be very grateful if i could get some feedback from you guys, i live in the north of Sweden and hands on Defender experience is hard to find.
Decided to start from scratch with this issue, join a forum and try to figure this out.
Issue.
Intermittent starting issues.
If im quick on the ignition the car cranks and starts for a second, then dies.
If im slow on the key, there is just a click from a relay under the left (drivers) seat.
It successfully starts 1/30 attempts , as if there never was an issue at all.
The 10AS module and Remote receiver has been changed a few years ago by a Landover shop who exchanged the motor due to a oil pressure failure before i owned it, i have done aprox 40000km since then.
I don't have an emergency code for the FOB.
This issue started when i started to remove the dash to change the window-wiper gears.
i have read all the threads on the internet dealing with this or similar without result.
What makes me confused is.
If i disconnect the 10AS unit, it starts most of the time, other times it has the same behavior as described above.
If i remove/disconnect the 10AS unit AND disconnects the dashboard, it starts most of the times.
I have a feeling that this is not as it should be, trying to figure out if the Landrover shop has tried to bypass the alarm system for some reason, some cables has been modified and jumped etc, one is cut and just hanging and there seems to be a few quick fixes.
i have 850km to the closest Landrover shop.
If anyone could confirm that disconnecting the 10AS unit results in absolutely nothing obvious, i would be very happy.
Same with disconnecting the cables from the dash unit.
This got me scratching my head.
