I was considering this company for a remap on my TD5 as they are in Reading and they have an alliance with Alive Tuning: http://www.rovertune.co.uk/
Not sure if Brooklyn 4x4 do remaps, but they have a outlet in Sailsbury: http://www.brooklyn4x4.com/. I bought my truck from them and they are normally pretty reasonable for service and repairs |

Whatever you do, make sure it is done properly by one of the big guns, like Alive.

Yes they are, as are West Somerset Land Rovers, in Wellington. Seems like you're right in the middle. ![]() As another option, there is the ATRIC. ![]() |

Thanks for your replies - very interesting. I have had a look at the Rovertune website and also Alive Tuning, both of which look great. £510 seems quite expensive for the ATRIC box though, but acknowledge that you probably get what you pay for. I was expecting a laptop to be connected to the engine and for it then to be re-configured/tuned. What I am really after is a more fuel efficient option without losing too much of the torque etc that the 90 offers. Is a typical 10% saving in fuel really worth the cost of the remap?
Thanks Simon |

Maps should make the vehicle more drivable, save you fuel and offer more torque where you need it. Hence the reason why you need to get it done by a proper tuner who knows Land Rover engines. You are throwing your money away if you go for anything else.
The ATRIC is good because you can put the modified tuned map onto the vehicle yourself, so when you are about to drop it into the dealership, plug it in and put the standard map back on the vehicle. They may use IDS/SDD to put a new calibration file onto the powertrain module, which if you just had a laptop tune done, it would be overwritten and never seen again. ATRIC is ideal for the Puma. |

Can the ATRIC box be used for 2 different vehicles?

Not sure. My answer would be 'No' because they are usually VIN specific, but perhaps Gary could comment?

You can only use ATRIC for tuning on any one vehicle at a time. If you changed your car, as long as you put it back to standard before selling it, you could use the ATRIC on your next car. ![]() |

A point worth noting is that an ATRIC remap purchased from Gary at Alive Tuning may initially seem expensive. However it is worth noting that this price is also inclusive of any dealer ecu updates that will be carried out at recognized service intervals. So once the defender comes back from the dealers and you redo the OEM file Gary will resend you a brand new remap file incorporating the changes.

How often is that likely to be? Surely the ECU is the ECU and is unlikely to be updated even at an annual service.
