I deleted the centre console from my spec, I’ll miss the arm rest but the space it opens up is handy.

I second this. The centre console is a massive waste of space. The Jump seat is actually quite good even if you don't use it so you dont have a big gap.

When I drove the centre console version I didn't see the storage practicality etc.

I’d miss the arm rest, though I’d have a pretty obscure use for the “walk through” bit. It would be very handy for shuffling over to grab the toll ticket for Mways sur l’continent where I don’t have a tag, similarly for paying. Also ferry ticket booths. Thinking Polish motorways and bridge from Denmark to Sweden. That all assumes we will ever get over there again.

But saying that, a 500 mile long haul leg with no LHS arm rest, or 4 consecutive days like that, might make me change my mind. Suppose the advantage of the jump seat is it gives an armrest when it’s folded down but flip it up to allow shuffling.

Derek maybe you should be looking at a LHD Defender for all this European driving you are planning___ Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!
