Catalytic converter cover/skid plate?
Hi,

Does anyone know any catalytic converter cover/lock to fit defender MY21?

The reason I need to cover it is because of theft, in last 3 months over 10 Catalytic Converter were stolen on my street. Yesterday around 8 pm another was stolen right from the driveway.

And the only way to protect it is to install some sort of cover, perhaps a skid plate should be able to do that too. 3.0L MHVE D200 S Pangea Green+Black Pack

Set it to lower to access height on switch off. The thieves will likely have to jack up a vehicle to get access and I’m sure they will pick an easier target. I’m not even sure if the cat is visible from below? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

jacks are used in this area to remove cats, enough photos on our local facebook groups to know that this is the M.O. 1999 90 TD5 CSW

Yes, jacks are used, clearly seen on CCTV. Lowering probably will just make the operation under the vehicle a bit more difficult.

The exhaust pipe is visible and easily accessible. One of these on the photo must be the catalytic converter.

Daft question but would a guard mean the heat from the catalyst escape less easily and risk a fire under the car? Me = non techie so just a question that popped into my noggin. Thumbs Up

If lowered and fully alarmed then moved with a jack the alarm motion sensor should trigger? 130's have feeling's as well you know Smile
