They will be independent of each other and (poss) separate to the steering.

This will allow one of the tracks (the inside one) to be braked to slew the thing similar to a tank.

Yeah, I know how they work but can't see how they're operated. As far as I can see, there are no additional controls in the cab so they must be linked somehow to the standard LR steering.

It does look fairly standard in there:

Attached article suggests that the inboard brakes assist with steering but I thought in the original video from the Tank Museum, the chap said that steering was just the front wheels?

That's what confused me, to be honest. Perhaps the article is mistaken. Darren

That's a great find Supercat. And shows its limitations.

At around 3:58 it does look as though one track is spinning freely with no drive to the other, so perhaps it only had an open Jag diff in the rear, or a limited slip diff that wasn't working/able to cope.

As with the footage from the one in private ownership, it also shows how the top of the tracks bounce up and down a lot. I can imagine the noise of them banging against the body was very annoying.

It also looked as though it ploughed into deep snow with the front end digging in due to the small contact area on the front tyres.

Nice to see a 101 in action as well, and was the tracked vehicle a Scorpion?
