Spain 2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Alaska White
18” tyres
So I know to the purists this will not be a good subject (sorry)

So I want to fit 18” rims on my defender. The law in Spain is they must be equivalent on load and speed rating as what’s on the vehicle documentation.

So on the docs I have

235/85/16 116 Q
7.5/16 108 N

I think the tyre size closes to 235/85/16 is 265/65/18 which I can get no probs, the issue is the load rating most are 114, I have seen a couple 117/114 and got told that’s per tyre 117 but 114 as a pair.

Most of the 18” tyres I see are speed rating T so that’s not an issue.

Does anybody know a 18” tyre that’s equal or above to 116, or any way to see a comparison of the 7.5/16 with a 18” most sites only do the size comparison with the 235/85/16 tyres and I can not enter the 7.5/16 tyres.

Any ideas Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

Ok next question, keeping in the same thread as it’s related.

Have some 9x18 rims on the way, prob stuck in customs and thinking of these two sizes

265/65 r18
285/60 r18

Now question is does anybody have these mounted? First what pressure do you run them at? Second what type of tyre are then, and thirdly would it be possible to measure the height from the floor to say wheel arches or bottom of the sill?

Why the questions well where my defender is parked at present I have a height restriction that I clear by not a lot. Don’t want to put new rims/tyres on then have to leave it outside.

Thanks in advance Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.
