Also wishing you a speedy recovery, that is a horrible thing to happen at your age.

(Lovely vehicle but I should mention though, that the rear crossmember appears to have been replaced with a later SII crossmember).

Why do you say that?

None of the photos shows the rear cross-member very well, but looking at this photo (below) the cross member has the correct narrow dimension front-to-back and seems to have the curves where the section changes in line with the chassis rails. It isn't easy to see, but looks completely original and correct for a '51 to me. It is certainly not a SII or later crossmember.

On the whole that is one of the least messed-about and most desirable 80s I have seen for sale for a long time (and I can remember when the asking price would have been between £350 and £500 for one in that condition)! Big Cry

Not only that, but the photo below is definitely not a SII crossmember!

It could be an optical illusion however, and you may well be right.

I'm sorry to hear that you've suffered not one but two strokes, sometimes there's just no good reason why. You could be as fit as a fiddle !
Good luck with the sale, I sold mine a couple of months ago between lockdowns and found the best response was on the land rover series one group on facebook.
Mine was nothing like as original as yours but I was bombarded with offers from both the UK and abroad , it sold in 48 hours to a chap that lived 250 miles away. No questions, no quibbles ! https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/

Sorry to hear about your health problems, however take heart in the fact that a good friend of mine had a stroke at 50, several years ago and is now fighting fit again, it took a year to get back to something like his old self but he’s AOK now.
A lovely original 80in, very much like one I have. GLWTS.
