New one has pretty decent pulling power
Pointless test but.....

Classic is on “knobblies” new one appears to be on the OEM All Seasons Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

pulling power
Not exactly an unexpected outcome is it?

I'd be pretty shocked if the new one didn't pull the old one backwards on a low traction surface.

On a slight aside, I really struggle to watch anything that Carwow produce- its basically what the Sun is to Journalism but in the car world.

I tried to sit through some of the other bits of new vs. old defender and had to switch it off.

I did wonder where you were going with the title of the thread, but then with the latest lockdown what else are you going to ‘pull’ whilst out with the new Defender...... Whistle

No lockdown here........just a recommendation not to travel into a lower tier. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

I have a 130 with no TC but it does have a rear LSD, and mud tyres.
I have a new Defender with mud tyres.
I have a stubble field.
I have a strong recovery strap.
I dont care which vehicle would win in a tug of war.

Who wants to find out? 130's have feeling's as well you know Smile

What is the point of these stupid tug o' war videos? I'd be more interested to see if the 2020 Defender can tow my 7.5 tonne horse box up a muddy 20% incline or pull my 200hp tractor out of a ditch. Defender 90XS SW
Mini Countryman Cooper S
Morgan Plus 8

Views innit.

But yes, old manual defender with open diffs and an inexperience driver loses against new auto defender with electronic diffs and 10 years newer TC computers, shock horror aren't we surprised
