Currently on the hunt for some new tyres!
I'm currently on the hunt for some new tyres since for what ever reason the Cooper ST Maxxs are no longer available due to EU Restrictions.....

I love the ST Maxxs as they are like an aggressive all terrain, excellent on the road and great off road and came in the size I want - 285/75/16.

Had a look around and the only things that have really caught my eye are

Toyo Open Country M/Ts
General Grabber X3s
Radar Renegade RT+

Anyone got any experience of them?

Or anyone got any other suggestions? That said I am quite specific! Must be

285/75/16 or a very similar size - Must be 16
Good in sand
Good in mud
Good grip on rock
Fairly quiet - I do 350m+ a week on tarmac - No louder than the ST Maxxs

I spotted some the other day called Maxxis Worm Drive. I'd buy them just for the name. Laughing 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I've been very pleased with the 255x85R16 Toyos on my Tdi. Noise isnt excessive, barely hear them over the engine noise. For the money I think they're an excellent tyre, look great too. However, I haven't anywhere near pushed them off road. James

How come they have been banned as such?

Not on your list but I am big fan of the BFG KO2. Find them pretty quiet and great in mud around our farm as well as sand when we go to the beach. My wife had Toyos and swapped to the BFGs on her Land Cruiser so they passed her test too!

What's your priority? Sand vs mud I'd say run a mud terrain pattern and drop the pressure in sand. But rocks I'd say a sticky all terrain instead of a mud terrain, more rubber in contact.

Assume you mean 350 miles rather than 350 metres (I do more than that getting out of my house) Razz?

Given that situation I'd say an all terrain pattern. Always been a fan of the BFGs although for the last 150k ran two sets of KM2s because although I do a lot of road mileage, usually when I get where I'm going need the mud pattern. Used to run KOs before those but for my uses mud pattern much more beneficial. Ed

Yeah, what restrictions are these? I've not seen any mention of any. WARNING.

Unless you really want and need MTR’s like I have the KM2, now KM3.
I would look at the BFG KO2.

Really good tyres, the only downside is price but you get what you pay for in life if you can keep them in good condition. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️
