[Wanted] Puma XS Defender 90 or 110 station wagon
Hi there,
my dad and I are after a XS defender for travelling with the family. He has finally retired and his wife is finally allowing him to get a defender after wanting one for the last 30 years. We are looking for around the £18000 mark. please say if you know of any, or believe that we are being too optamistic!
All the best,

Josh

Josh,

You might find the 90 is a little cramped for family travels. I moved to the 110SW for that exact reason. No regrets.

You should have no trouble getting one for that money, although it will be the 2.4tdci rather than the later 2.2

Both are fine, the 2.4 Station Wagon will be in the high road tax band (£550) where the 2.2 was classified as "commercial" and is under £300.

You could look for a 110 2.4 XS Utility which only lacks the two folding rear seats, and rear windows.
These can be fitted later if you want.

Here's a nice looking low mileage 110 XS SW for a start, slightly over budget at £19,995 but you might get a bit of discount. Buying from a dealer will cost more but you get the benefit of a warranty....always useful on a 13 year old Land Rover

^^^ Not entirely true. From late 2010 for MY2011 vehicles, all Defenders became N1 category, therefore qualifying for the lower annual RFL. This includes the 110SW

Iv'e been looking for the past couple of months and most i have rang or viewed are useually dealers or individuals who have owned the vehicle for a few months added a snorkel hyped the price with very little or no history to back up the "well looked after one owner" quote. We are looking for a 90 & 20K seems to get a 2008 with 50 to 70k miles, somone did mention to me on here not to go on mileage but im not so conviced with the later ford engines with all emission add ons these days, I am getting increasingly frustrated & considering a mitsubishi shogun Di DC you certainly get a lot more for your money however its not a LR which keeps pulling me back.
Good luck with your search
