United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Zermatt Silver
Forte Seal Conditioner
I saw a reference to this product on another thread this afternoon. Rather than hijack that thread I thought I would start my own.

https://www.forteuk.co.uk/product/seal-conditioner/

I'm wondering whether anyone here uses it as a type of preventative measure rather than after seal wear has become apparent? Is this a good idea or a waste of money?

My understanding (opinion) is that while they might certainly work short term, the seal will soon fail completely as it is well worn and now soft.

Seems their last line, "Ideal for used car preparation" is telling. Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭

Forté stuff is good but I'd agree that anything to make seals swell is really meant to tide you over until you can change the seals.

Having said that, I used their radiator leak stopping stuff in my old Berlingo van and it stopped the heater matrix leak (to replace the matrix, it meant undoing two bolts under the bonnet, then "just" removing the entire dashboard...), lasting for four years until I sold it.
