^^^ Thanks Cool

got the chassis moved to the front of the garage earlier. So hopefully I can steal 15 mins of time this weekend to get a coat of green on it, and remove the "old" axle.

Not much more as been out all day, but I got the U bolts (and studs) removed, and damper lower plates off, so the axle is ready to remove tomorrow sometime. Was literally half hours tinkering...

^^^ Thanks

Don't think I'll get much done tomorrow... got to go and quote for a job in the morning then got the father in law over for lunch. Maybe get a bit of cleaning up done late afternoon.

Will be wire brushing the bits above (U bolts and shock lower mounts) and giving them a lick of paint.

It's BS 285 Nato Green. Was the closest match to the factory finish.

Unfortunately I ordered Matt instead of eggshell, so once I've finished painting each iten, with its last coat, I give a it a spray in lacquer. Seems to give it that slight sheen.

Got my paint from arc-rite.co.uk

I have used their Light stone for mine and found it a good match even though I used matt and it looks right.

Although all i have been doping is a wheel bearing replace on one side and repack on the other + a quick bit of paint to tidy her up.

Not much to report at the moment....

Old axle is off, all U bolts and lower spring pads cleaned up and painted ready to refit.

Trouble is now it's piddling down for what looks like the next week Rolling Eyes

I did manage to get a coat of NATO green on the rear crossmember and a couple of the chassis rails, but nowhere near the whole chassis, so will have to wait until the weather clears up a bit.

Had a nice bit of weather at the weekend, so got a coat of NATO on the top and what i could see of the underside of the chassis... Next week is looking good weather wise, so I'll flip it over and give the bottom a good coat:

The jack was missing, and I picked up a good used one off of the Penman/Sankey FB page. Needed a bit of loving up:

One slight problem with this one, is that when you wound the jack right up and then to the point where the two tabs lined up (for the large R clip to lock the jack handle from unwinding when it's stowed) the wheel wasn't tight up to the outer shaft, so can rattle a lot... not that this will make a huge amount of difference being towed by my 110, but when Ive got another G I don't want annoying rattles like that! Laughing

So I cut the lower tab off, wound the jack up so the inner shaft was tighter, and welded it back in place so the R clip would fit...

Nice work Bow down

Can you tell me the overall width if possible as my expedition trailer is not braked and I’m thinking of putting the main tub on one so it’s braked as 750 kg limit isn’t great Thumbs Up

Width of the tub itself, or with the side jacks in place? (which is wider as they're on the side)
