Condensation
Hi all, first Autumn/Winter in a defender it has been fully sound proofed and carpeted. Jumped in today after a day of rain noticed a damp smell touched around the plastic on the heater openings in the footewell and it was wet, as was much of the plastic and metal behind and below the dash thought it may have been a water leak but noticed a water bottle I had left in the cab had condensation on the outside. I know there not well insulated from the outside world but could the damp just be condensation is this normal?

Its been warm today, interior vehicle heats up and damp carpets will create condensation.

Take out anything thats wet and dry it. Cheers

Also if you have a dehumidifier then put it in overnight. If not then use a few cheapo disposable ones. WARNING.

Thanks chaps so I take it it's normal with Defenders?

I did always wonder why even on a later one some of the interior metal behind the dash had surface rust, areas that water from a windscreen leak wouldn't get to.
