How to get the double din Dashboard fit flush back
Hello


Having changed my headunit a while back for the two part double din unit I was never happy with how the top part fitted to the bottom part. So a full double dim unit with moving vents....and I swapped it over.

However I cannot seem to get this to sit back and click into the top part. So at the side (circled) its not flush either...

I know its tight, very tight especially as I have a Reversing camera and 3 x sets of RCA's for amps at the back of the headunit. So pushing it back in place is always fun Smile

Is there anything I can remove at the back of this unit to make it sit flush.... Thumbs Up

3 simple steps when I did it and had the same issue. In the end had it fitted for me in teh end but the installer talked through the issues and showed me the problems.

Obvioulsy put the cables in carefully
Some people remove the metal bracket that is welded to the cross bar behind as this causes clearance issues.
But most importantly heat up the heater pipes with a heat gun at the back to bend them out of the way slightl.

I struggled. Gave up but after seeing what he did i wish I'd have carried on.

I had trouble with mine too...Was frustrating tbh.
All the above makes sense.
I found the Head Unit was fixed at angle which didn’t allow the assembly to move back into the area of most space.
I elongated the holes in the two brackets securing it.
A small angle change at the front gives a larger movement at the very back of the unit.
This made a considerable difference and mine fits ( and comes out and goes back again) a treatđź‘Ť

Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow....

Try crushing the heather vents at the back, on mine, I totally cut the centre vents out and blanked them off, I get much better air flow out of the two outer vents, drastic, but everything on mine fits perfectly.
