France and Germany subsidies make EVs "almost free"
https://auto.hindustantimes.com/auto/news/...23068.html

"France and Germany have sought to soften the coronavirus pandemic’s blow to the badly hit car sector with generous subsidies. With both the governments' boost for electric vehicle incentives, their purchase subsidies are now among the most favorable in the world."

"The state support is allowing Autohaus Koenig, a dealership chain with more than 50 locations across Germany, to advertise a lease for the battery-powered Renault Zoe that is entirely covered by subsidies. In the 20 days since it put the offer online, roughly 3,000 people have inquired and about 300 have signed contracts."

What's the catch? Confused

Here we are......

Buyers will have to read the fine print, as some offers come with additional one-time fees or down payments.

"“This is a golden moment for us," said Rainer Westdoerp, a spokesman for the Berlin-based startup, which on Wednesday will start offering leases of Daimler AG’s battery-powered Smart EQ for 9.90 euros a month."

Wouldn't mind that deal in the UK...

The deals are still out there. We had two 40kw Nissan Leafs with no deposit and £122.13 a month on a PCP for 24 months and 10k pa miles.

Came to end and the GFV was subsidised to death and was £8500 on e1ch one. I bought them both and flogged to WBAC at 13k each.

So each one paid me £1550 to own it Shocked 1951 80" S1 2.0

I assume he is calculating
£122.13 x 24 = £2931.12
plus cost £8500 =£11431.12 , Sale proceeds £13000 = Net profit £1568.88
or that is the way I would do it

More perverse deals:
