JLR Lose another case in court...
Gender-fluid worker wins Jaguar Land Rover tribunal

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-covent...e-54180794

"In a statement, JLR apologised to Ms Taylor for her experiences during her employment and said it continued to strive to improve in this area."

and yet

"In its judgement made on 14 September, the tribunal said it found it appropriate to award "aggravated damages" because of the "egregious way" the claimant was treated and because of the "insensitive stance" taken by JLR in defending proceedings. It also recommended the company takes "positive steps to avoid this situation arising again".

The claimant's compensation would also be increased by 20%, it said, because of JLR's failure to comply with the ACAS Code of Practice over Ms Taylor's grievance".

Good grief! JLR’s HR and Management teams must be living and working in the days of British Leyland?

A Company the size of JLR should have experienced enough HR Staff to manage this situation without the need for a day out in court.

It’s not as if a day out in court is, a day out. There will have been hundreds and hundreds of hours of time put into this case by Staff who are not cheap and Lawyers who are ruinously expensive. Hell knows what this has cost them aside from the cost of compensation, and the whole situation could have been handled so much more sensitively and let’s be fair about it, cheaper than this.

It’s also not great publicity for a Company.

JLR do not give a hoot about the customer, whom pays for them to exist.
What chance do the staff have?

A sizeable payout:

"A gender-fluid worker has won £180,000 in compensation from her former employer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).

An employment tribunal previously found in favour of Rose Taylor , who claimed she had suffered abuse and a lack of support at work.

The compensation was agreed at a remedy hearing held on Friday."

If you look at the records of employment tribunals, there's 14 pages of records where JLR are the respondent Shocked

What a complete waste of money.... poor fluid/TG person wants to be "different" in a factory full of (I'd imagine) blokey blokes, and gets upset because they ask him/her questions pertinent to his/her choice of lifestyle. Rolling Eyes

Do you know JLR's employee breakdown? It's certainly doesn't look like a company full of blokey blokes. In any event, it's the employer that has had the judgement made against it and suffered increased financial penalty for it's corporate actions and failures.

I don't think you can brush this one under the carpet with such a sweeping and anachronistic statement.

I meant to add that I imagine £180k buys a lot of frilly panties...so maybe no real loosers here. Future new Defender owners take note your new purchase includes the new JLR frilly panty tax.

Ah the good ol days of the girls friend's undies in the glove box.

The back of my Ford RS 1600i was er comfortable, or was it because i was younger, more flexible and not driving a TD5 Hardtop like today..... Whistle

I remember the wife took her mother shopping for a new bra. When the new bra was duly fitted in the shop the wife simply dumped her mother's (not inconsiderable) old bra on the back seat of the Puma. As I am accustomed to coats, tops, socks etc being dumped on the backseat I paid no notice. Duly drove around as normal and parked up as normal with the aforementioned item on the back seat. Finally came to notice when I was folding down the seat when I was in a builder providers yard...
If it had been a nice modest frilly or lacey thing I might have been able to swagger it off but no such luck. Damn Solihull for not fitting glove boxes with doors. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Who knows why the glove box was never fitted in the Puma. It’s not as if there isn’t space for one!

Each to their own, live and let live but if you’re gender fluid why use female pronouns? To me that just confuses the issue.
