When you say you had the preload adjusted, did the person doing it use the correct tooling to check?
I ask as if they just removed a few shims and overtightened it, this can crush the bearing causing failure and the hub will drop away from the cup slightly causing the one shot grease to leak out. Yep, they use the spring balance of whatever it is to check for tension. They are Generally very good, but I’ll give them a buzz on Monday and see what they say. I think I’ve lost about 75ml in total and it has stopped now.

Would it be reasonable to expect the beating to collapse in 20 miles or so? Also, I haven’t noticed any vibration or wobble etc. |

When adjusting the swivel pins you need to remove the top pin, either to add or remove shims. This is where your seals got damaged.
The axle needs to be supported and kept perfectly still during this, if it's not supported it will hang on the seal and damage it. Well that's what I learned a few years ago. |
