As above, the TR spot light relay (likely to be a yellow coloured cube relay) is enabled by the column switch with a "2" on it and the voltage sensitive switch.
Track down the tall yellow relay-type module labelled "Voltage Sensitive Switch":  Click image to enlarge This might be behind the speedo/instrument pack, it depends how the TR models had their extra wiring added. Not sure where in Buckinghamshire you are but I'm near Banbury if you need help diagnosing the issue. (Edited) 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Looking again at your fuse box photo, I think it's likely that the two green relays are those for the spot lights. The wire colours coming out appear to be blue with stripes so probably headlamp/spot related.
If you can unclip those relay bases from the fuse box and photograph the bottom, showing the wire colours coming out, I can advise how to test the lamps and relays. Martin 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

That blue and purple looks in a very bad state. I’d try cleaning it up and see if that makes a difference. Ray

Looks like some corrosion on that relay terminal - what does it look like from the side the relay plugs in? Might be worth installing/removing/installing a few times to clear the terminal of corrosion.

Hi there.
Just really curious, did cleaning up that relay help or was the issue ever found? I have the seemingly same behaviour… yet this post has given some vital clues at least. |

If they’ve been working fine and stopped and the fuse is ok, with current at the unit then try moving the earth and see if that gets it.

We’ve not long took ownership so they haven’t worked for us - yet I’ve also found a corroded connector under the bonnet before where it heads up the roll cage to the roof (plus tape wrapped wires). So know what I’m doing for Easter. Start at the fuse box and trace current downstream until I find and fix all I can.
