New Defender 90 Boot Space
I have just viewed the new defender 90 that I ordered earlier in the year. to my horror the rear seats don't go flat and therefore there is no room for my two labradors unless I trade them in for Chihuahuas. The dealer agreed this was an issue and persuaded me to buy a 110 which I am due to collect tomorrow. Can someone please confirm that this is correct and that the rear seats dont fold completely flat like they do in the 110.

A bit of an issue but doesn’t put me off, the 110 is nice but just doesn’t do it for me.

I've just shifted a fridge in my 90, sat perfectly on the rubber matting with a couple of bungee's...not sure the new commercial floor design could handle such an epic job! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains

Be careful with the 110 too, if you need a totally flat load space with the rear seats folded then you have to go for the 5 seat version where the 3 seat bases lift and tumble forward and the seat backs fold into the space where the seat bases were (not forgetting to fold the head restraints down too). In the 7 seater the middle row seat bases do not lift up because of the sliding mechanism to allow access to the 3rd row seats, in this version the middle row seat backs only fold forward to sit on top of the base/cushion Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I think a second design flaw is/are the door panels inside the 90.. ( very cheap to use the same as the 110)
So what went wrong Gerry ?

in 7 seater you have too push the seats down and then you hear "click" and you have flat load space

Big thanks for all replies, didn't realise the seats actually locked down but will go with the 110.

It almost needs some enterprising chap or chapess to build a box to level the floor to the seat. the box in turn could have a shallow draw for holding the jack and other bits.

Remember, you heard it here first. All royalty cheques can be made out to the Make Me a Millionaire by Teatime fund...... Whistle

There’s a company already making stuff like that for the 110, I’d imagine they will do something for the 90.
