using branded fitlers Mahle etc would be fine in my experience.

Depending on mileage and how its used you may need to do more frequent changes due to oil dilution from dpf regens.

once a year minimum. Cheers

As above TBH - any decent branded filter works for me and choose a decent oil. Rgds.

I've been changing the oil every 6 months since I bought mine in 2010, as I don't do much mileage.

An oil change is cheaper than replacing an engine Thumbs Up --

Every 6 months or 5-6k miles, whichever the sooner. Just make sure it’s good low saps oil for the 2.2 . See sticky in tdci section. https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic34176.html Also don’t forget to reset the oil service indicator counter on the ECU. This counter is there to raise a dash message to change the oil due to dpf dilution of the oil. Unless you reset it at oil change it won’t know you have changed oil and will be out of sync with oil changes and will give an inaccurate message

https://www.defender2.net/forum/post440582.html half way down explains the way to do this.

I use gen landrover oil filter, they are not expensive and my local dealer always gives me a good discount. Mainly because I always ask for one and get an air filter at the same time.

I have Changed mine every 6000 from new in 2015. Used genuine filters and correct spec oil supplied from Opie 👍
Also changed oils in the axles, gearbox and transfer box every 10000. Coming up to 69000 now. 2015 90 XS Santorini Black

I do the same. Every 6 months I do it and the air filter, then the next 6 months my landy specialist does the full service.

I also use the Millers Oils XF Longlife 5W30 C1 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil as per devon rover’s pic above. Great oil and you can get at a reasonable price on line.

1...2 yrs
6...12 K miles

100 K miles on the counter - but mine's no commuter. No short distance trips. No excessive use, while engine is cold.
That's important. For any modern Diesel engine with EGR + DPF + big volume of motor oil

Besides, I assume things to be a bit overestimated. Transit engines are work horses...
