I went down the Mudstuff double DIN route. The panel is quite easy to fit. I went for the JVC/Kenwood unit suggested by Mudstuff, but bought it elsewhere much cheaper. The panel needed a fair amount of filing to get the head unit to fit though (despite Mudstuff claiming it is a perfect fit!).

I also fitted a reversing camera. The hands free phone feature is good, but on a motorway, the best you can do is bellow "I'll ring you back" into the mike!

I fitted a subwoofer too and this has transformed the sound quality no end!
