Hi all,

Just thought it would be of interest to add to this thread, we had 3 very different days & nights in Devizes with sun, rain, heavy gusts of wind and sometimes a combination of all 3 simultaneously!
The Eezi-awn blade roof tent was very, comfortable, quiet and importantly dry for all combinations, this is its first real time out and will provide shelter again on the August Bank Holiday when we will be camping after green laning. This was the main driver for the "hard shell" roof tent as I was concerned/ worried that if I did get the approach wrong or misjudged the height on a particular tight tree lined lane, there could be damage to a non metal type roof tent?
The tent closed is just under 2.4m, which is OK, but I do find myself not getting into many car parks 😅.

I plan to visit the cairngorm's in October and at the moment, my only niggling concern is the ladder, as the design is for this to be transported in the tent along with bedding, but manoeuvring this on your own into the tent from the ground is not as simple as it sounds and I can only imagine in difficult weather conditions will prove even more challenging 😀 so if there is anyone out there who has experience of this type of challenge, I would like to hear how you got around it.

Many thanks

Hi Guys,

Probably covered in various small threads but noting that answers my specific questions...

Which is the best roof tent, for under £2000 new?

Folder: Gordigear ---compare in detail the design and construction, fabric stitching, taping and weaving - every part is replaceable inc the tent canvas.
Hardshell - Maggiolina
