Halfords Trade Card
Just a quick heads up for anyone who is in a trade, I've been able to get a Halfords Trade Card today and it immediately saved me £88 on four new leisure batteries (Halfords own brand, but actually re-labelled genuine Yuasa L36-EFBs) for our boat. They were already the same price as as the major internet battery sellers, so I'm a very happy chap.

The list of trades covered is remarkably generous, so have a look and see if you can get one too. Details are here:

https://www.halfords.com/customer-services/trade-card/

Incidentally, if I'm doing anything wrong by posting this Martin, I humbly apologise and please delete it. Thank you.

Do they visit you? Or is that just put there to put people off. I have a C&G's in a qualifying trade but don't practice or have means to bluff that I do.

Simply call 01527 513384 and leave a message - you'll then be contacted within 10 working days to discuss a suitable time for us to come and visit you. 110 D250 SE HT

I applied online yesterday and took one of my business cards and my CIPHE (Institute of Plumbing) membership card into the local branch today, as per their website instructions. I had no photo ID with me, and anyway, what use would it have been in a mask!

They couldn't find my online application, so just filled it out again in the store, gave me my card and I got my batteries.

I was amazed to be honest, but it was very easy.

So not that old then. I'll give it a try. Nothing to lose. But I find it strange a carpenter is on the list for a card. Not seen many chippy tools in Halfords 110 D250 SE HT

When i got one years ago I just took a big pile of car parts receipts in to show the 'yoof' behind the desk as it was open to enthusiasts, not sure if that is still the case now?

I got one without any issues but the magnetic strip on the card stopped functioning almost immediately. As they have to swipe it before every transaction they end up having to manually key in the long card number each time. I asked if i could get a new card to save this issue numerous times and get told that I will have to re-prove my entitlement! I cant be bothered with that so I am happy to let them have to manually type it every time. It is especially funny if you query them on 'how much is..." with the trade card as they have to type it in to check then again to pay Rolling with laughter

It is less useful now than it used to be as they dont actually sell many car parts. It is still useful on their tools and own brand bulbs and wipers though although the savings seem less each time i use them. You used to be able to get a headlight bulb for less than £1 when i got it!

I also get a permanent 10% off voucher for anything in store (including bikes and car cleaning) through work which I have also had results getting them to apply alongside trade card discount several times. Depends on how much I can be bothered to argue with them to get them to point out to me in the trade card T&C and those on my work discount that they cannot be used in conjunction with each other.

I went In armed with a bundle of random invoices for parts, mainly Landrover suppliers , I also “created” some letter headed paperwork, and job Is a goodie,

I agree that what I’ve done is a bit fraudulent, but then charging about a fiver for a couple of crimp connectors on a Sunday afternoon is not so much fraudulent but daylight robbery Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

I have one and it has saved me a fair bit over the years.

Anyone in or near Andover and needs to use one for a purchase or two please let me know and I will arrange a suitable handover.

I have a Trade card and just took my certificates in, I tend to buy batterys from them as I like Yuasa batterys and the reciept is emailed to me so I never loose it, especially with the 5 year guarantee!

I already have my own Snap on tools but always recommend Halfords to my brother in law as with the trade card can get quite a good discount!

Cheers
