Front wipers don’t stop
Thought it would be a simple fix of changing the originally wiper relay. I changed the wiper relay to a ‘99’ one which I had bought sometime ago and had never put in, but it didn’t fix the issue. The only way of stopping the wipers is to switch the ignition off and on. The wipers behave perfectly in normal use it’s only after using the jet wash that they will then not stop.
Any ideas?

I just tried again and they didn’t stop after just using the wipers without the jet wash.
Also now they don’t even stop after switching the ignition on and off.

Thanks I finally got around to do this.
Decided on paying £22 for the Official Landrover part from Rimmer. It’s made in the U.K. as well.
The job went ok apart from getting the loom plug out of the switch also the switch out and back in which was a right pain.
Anyway I am very pleased to report my wipers now stop again !

I had this with a VW relay I got from a friend. Turned out to be an 'intelligent' programmable relay running mad. After we switched it back to a dumb relay it worked again as designed - too much intelligence in a car part is bad for a Defender! Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.
