Hi thanks for the reply, but please don't bother as I have just realised that the guard I have bought is for a 90 and I have a 110 CSW!

Bad luck. I was going to say having fitted one myself don't worry about the instructions, they make no sense!! 1984 One-Ten CSW

Mine was already installed when bought, but all of the brackets are marked on the opposite side to that where they are actually fitted.......

I will sell it on eBay or on here. In the mean time i have bought a Travall system. I have had one in my Disco 3 and it was a really well engineered bit of kit and a doddle to install. Everything i had heard about the LR system was that it is a pig to install. Thanks for the offer of support though.

I can confirm it was very difficult to install. Had I known I would not have brought it so it sounds like you have the best outcome. 1984 One-Ten CSW

I have used travall in our other cars for years but when getting the one for the defender I decided the mounting locations for the genuine one looked much stronger.
I guess it depends if you want a dog guard Vs a cargo barrier? The genuine one is only a pain to fit initially. After you have the brackets installed it is very easy to take in and out. |
