Hi I’ve been having a clear out and I’ve had this kicking around it’s not seen the light of day for a number of years but if it’s of any use to anyone( lockdown project ) it’s a hydrolastic pump ( Dalek )and the levers are moving so not seized although I suggest giving it a good clean due to not being used or a while it is for Old Mini’s but I assume will also do Mgf’s and Metro’s I’ve given it a good wash I would like £50 please(£30 for myself and a £20 donation to be made to the forum ) Thumbs Up cheers Paul 07766 325028 junction 6 M40

I have messaged one of the lads who is or was part of the metro committee, to see if anyone is in need of one. I know are like gold dust now, and were expensive back in the day.

edit
I have messaged one of the metro admins on face book, and linked him to here. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Hi procta Thumbs Up no worries thanks anyway, I don’t really like eBay so I will leave it in the allotment shed where it’s been for a long time anyway, I’m sure it’ll find a home one day Thumbs Up cheers Paul

I have also mentioned it to someone on You Tube who is restoring a nice white J rover metro 1.1C. just waiting on the lads reply to me, So i can private message him the link on here. Thumbs Up
Worth its weight in gold still, I had to invest in one for two metros, Not many garages blow up the suspensions on Austin Rover stuff. Which is weird for car that is made in the uk, But then saying that, I had buy bits from Netherlands for metro, some bits are extinct new in the UK for the these cars. A few people said, " i can get bits for my rover new still" and my response to that is, " it depends on the rover"

Hi Procta thanks for that Thumbs Up it’s much appreciated, we are so lucky with Land Rover parts suppliers in this country and we can choose our budget as well with most of them which I do like, some parts I get non genuine and others genuine depending on where it’s going Thumbs Up cheers Paul

@Procta. Interesting that you mentioned the Netherlands as a source for mini/metro spares.

A chap I worked with had a Midas car a couple of years ago. He needed a new master cylinder unit which turned out to be quite rare as I think it was only fitted to a small number of early Metros. Something to do with the brake fluid reservoir location if I remember correctly. Or was the cylinder vertical on some and horizontal on others? I can't remember. Anyway, the only place he could find a replacement was NL! It was a strange vehicle and not my cup of tea.

lohr500 the Midas owners are members of the metro owners club too, as they are practically the same car, and they exchange parts and info Thumbs Up
I have sold an entire car loom to a Scottish owner, due to him not able to get hold of a metro in a scrap yard. I think he ended a few bits to splice into his loom.
So i am not surprised at all by that at all with the midas owner. I think the Aseries metros had a few tricky setups as i remember for brake and clutch. Compared to the kseries metro, More support for the A series metro than the K series, you can practically go to a classic mini dealer and they will sort you, with A series metros as they will have broke 100s for those. The K series was on its own, and the mgf was based on it oddly enough. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
