If you're on Farcebook it's worth keeping an eye on the Excavators for Sales in the UK & Ireland group. Since I was on the lookout for something similar there's a fair few popped up over the weeks / couple of months I was looking.
If you're not familiar with them it's worth taking someone who knows plant machinery along to try things out. Depends on what you're after. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

^^ That looks to be a very tidy machine and good value for money.

Want to be careful though. Places have a bit of a habit of throwing a lick of paint over everything to make it look neater. Not saying it isn't - just be aware. Ed

Not a bad looking machine but not great value being a only a 4x2 with no extra dig and a shame about the missing door. Think I’m sorted after looking at upto £21K machines I’ve gone for one at the lowest end of my budget but she’ll work and dig all day long and do nearly everything I need in the yard including build my new workshop. I’m looking forward to sorting a few loose pins and some general tidying. Still keeping an eye out for a better machine in the future but after only operating an old 3C mk2 so it’ll do to practice on and probably make me appreciate a newer machine more. I'd use it a fair bit before you start worrying about replacing pins. There's a hell of a lot you learn to compensate for so if it's a case of welding and line-boring the bushes again I'd see how you get on first.
There's also a reasonable amount of plan in my king pin on the 2CX but I've got used to it and not found it an issue yet. Once the major building work is done then I might knock them out and have a look. Luckily we designed a new motor controller for a friend's line borer / welder machine so he thinks he still owes my father and I. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |
