Wrangler MTR's
Hi,

I am running Goodyear Wrangler MTR's 235/85 on my 90. Is there any advice on what depth the tread becomes no use. Not used for a huge amount of serious offroad, just quite rough and very muddy stuff at times.

They are decent at the moment but just wanted to know what folks think so I am ahead of the game, ie before it's too late and I have no grip!

Thank you.

Hi, most people seem to recommend around 6mm to be the time to change MT tyres, if the performance in mud is important.
They'd be fine on the road for a few more mm, but won't claw their way through mud very well.

Hi mate,

Right, thank you, that's useful to know, I've got a fair bit more than that so I'm good for a while.

I know the obvious answer is wait till you loose any grip, but it's a bit late then!! Laughing

Cheers

Anything more than 50% worn is pretty useless in mud. Sell them on to a cheapskate and buy some new ones if off road grip is important! ---

Exactly this. I move mine on around 10mm usually.
