Well, I had a voucher for £10 off ebay, so splashed out on a wee, completely unnecessary trinket... What a magpie Embarassed

Not strictly in the right thread, as it's on the Adventure key but I don't have a My Defender thread for the orange one. Closest I'll get to a 70th Anniversary. Current Steeds:

2003 BMW F650 the Hack
2000 Elise
1992 Ducati 888 (no longer in bits, yahoo)

1988 TDR 250 (no longer in bits) and for sale

Snap. I've just fitted a set of those to mine and I'm very pleased with the reduction in driveline play.

Ah, copperslip!

That reminds me, I'll have to get some of that ceramic grease. Just had four alloys replaced under warranty on account of corrosion where the alloy contacts the hub... Current Steeds:

Long due an update.

Following some car park rash, I decided to get some protection.

Bought from Landi4x4bits via ebay.

Went from standard back end to corner protected.

They're ok for the money, although there are some pinholes in the powdercoat.

Also replaced rear brake pads at 47,000.

Decided to go with Ferodo pads, they come with new pins and springs.

Also changed pistons to stainless from Autoparts. There were some impact marks from rattling about in the box. I know folk slag Britpart, but at least they package the pistons in individual boxes.

It would have taken some effort to clean up the standard pistons and they would have been even more corroded next time, probably binding on, accelerating disc and pad wear.

The job would have been a whole lot easier if my Land Rover factory trained technicians hadn't f***ed the locking wheelnut key and nuts. What a PITA it was taking the wheels off, just as well I haven't had a puncture, I'd never have got the wheel off at the roadside. In fact, one of the standard wheel nuts has been damaged - as if the chrome cover has spun - I had to get a 27mm socket and hammer it on, the wheel wrench wouldn't fit over the damaged cover. Typical damaged nut on left, unused spare wheel nut on right.

I obviously forgot to dinitrol this brake guard - 5 years old and it's in a shocking state.

I sprayed the other one with corroheat on the inside and brushed clear wax on the outside. Current Steeds:
