Your right, but I don't hold out much hope for the original fittings,
but I'll try what you say, see how it goes. Does it hold, if parked up or down
hill. It drives my wife nuts.

Tightened the rear door today as well. makes a huge difference when you need to pick up a 90 lb pup into the back of the car.

By the way "LostinOz" which is the tab? is it the one above the left nut, or is it the grey metal coming down behind the right nut i just noticed it in the picture 2012 Fuji White 110 Flattened

Mulgo pty ltd Australia do a gas strut kit for the rear door at a very reasonable price. The only fix I think in strong wind or uneven ground.

Bolted it up tight early June and its just as lose for the past few weeks, never really held on a hill or in the wind. going to go down the road of fitting a strut, seems the most secure way. 08 Puma 90xs
